DENIM LOUNGE
Plywood from China that was cut on a CNC machine into 400 pieces in Ohio and transported to Chicago in a van became three-dimensional in just two days before the store was to open. An exercise in form-making and digital fabrication, the program consisted of a 25-foot-long undulating grid for the display of blue jeans, not unlike a good pair of form-fitting jeans. The pre-cut notching system employed for assembly required no mechanical fasteners.
