Latin School Play Garden Receives Gold Honors

This year's ALA Awards honored Latin School Play Garden with a Gold Award.
This urban school yard aligns with the principles of student collaboration and exploration at the core of the Latin School. Designed in collaboration with Michelle Sakayan, it's organized as a series of scenes throughout a free-flowing environment that allow children to construct their own learning through play and exchange with each other and teachers. In this context the environment is the third teacher, serving to inspire and encourage children to delve deeper and deeper into their interests.
